Francis was settled in 1865. In 1890, the Utah Central Railroad set grade and ties up the Provo River over Wolf Creek Pass, but the project was abandoned before it was completed. Today, Francis has a wonderful blend of agriculture activities along with a growing residential community. Citizens of Francis are hosts to an Annual Homecoming Celebration, rodeo and other activities over the Labor Day weekend.
