Utah is a state that is distinct from all other states of US in its variety of landscapes on offer for camping trips. It boasts of an impressive collection of over 7000 camping sites distributed throughout the state along major interstate highways that are regularly visited through the summer and spring seasons. This does not mean that the winters do not see any amount of camping. In fact, for those who do not mind the winters, the state has got some excellent camping sites that are almost never populated in the winter cold.

The opportunities available here include Alpine camping in the highlands of Uinta and other similar mountain ranges, desert camping in the red rock country of Utah such as the Manzanita Brushes. The state also has many lakes perfectly suited to the needs of campers such as the Lake Powell and Flaming Gorge. For those who prefer to stay closer to civilization, the numerous state parks, national parks and national forest provide ample camping ground as well. Some of the activities that one can engage in while camping out in the wilderness of Utah include bike riding, hiking, trekking, mountain climbing and fishing.

In order to avail the camping rights one has got to approach the proper authorities and book their duration of stay and camp site permits so as to ensure that they get the perfect spots early on. Summers and springs are often overcrowded and require permits well in advance. Some of the camp sites come with a ban on open fires and shall require you to carry amnesties accordingly.
